This bathroom is a great example of how accessible features can be made beautiful in a home. This space won the 2010 AARP Livable Communities Award for Remodeler- Single Space.

First let’s look at theĀ  roll-in shower are on the right. Obviously the tile work is beautiful and the window adds wonderful natural light. The tile floor from the rest of the bathroom makes a seamless transition into the shower space which is sloped to the drain. Given that the shower space appears spacious, the opening, which appears to be 4ft wide, gives ample space to comfortably enter and exit. The vanity is a roll under with rich woodwork that matches the rest of the cabinetry. In the toilet area, the grab bars match the rest of the black colored hardware in the bathroom. The door looks to be a 3ft wide pocket door which eliminates door swing clearance.
