Bad Design Style: Case #11

This bad design comes way of Vietnam. As you can see this bus stop is not wheelchair accessible. The actual stop is a raised platform that appears to be about 3-4 inches off the ground. At least the guy has a pole to hoist himself and his wheelchair up on the platform! At minimum a quick fix here would be a ramp to the platform. Then just be careful of the drop offs.

Of course in the U.S. bus stops must follow ADA Design guidelines for accessibility. Vietnam did recently pass disability rights laws that included accessibility design. However implementation would take years if not decades.
