Bad Design Style: Case #14

Seriously, who installs a piece of equipment at the top of ramp? Obviously the brain and designing hand were not communicating.

Looks to me like there was plenty of room to have installed the equipment further down. Allowing space for a top landing. This ramp is even unsafe for people walking because there’s now a tripping hazard. The blocked top is not the only problem with this ramp. No edge protection so there’s a drop off. The height is not very significant but enough to be unsafe. The other problem is that there doesn’t appear to be any striping on the pavement to keep people from parking there cars in front of the ramp. Maybe after they figured this was a useless ramp they didn’t bother painting a striped area to prevent further irony.
