Bad Design Style: Case #30
Alright, so this is a vacation home rental with a beach side ocean view. And it’s actually accessible with a wheelchair friendly entrance and elevator that goes to each floor. However that ramp on the side of the house that leads from the ground level to the second floor has got to go. It’s way way too steep and potentially dangerous.
First of all, going up that ramp would be extremely difficult and there is the possibility of tipping over backwards. Going down would be like a soapbox derby. If the ramp is wet from a rain shower, then people walking up and down need to be careful of potentially slipping.
Since the house is already accessible with an interior elevator, then the ramp should be replaced with stairs. It would keep people from trying their luck on the ramp and be safer overall. Besides that the house is very nice on the inside and the views of the beach and ocean are spectacular.
