Bad Design Style: Case #43

Ummm .. ever hear of the phrase, “like a boat in the desert”? Well that’s sort of what’s going on with this ramp. Both the boat and ramp might work, but are useless where they are. Not even going to say this ramp is functional but we can’t even find out if a wheelchair can’t even get on or off!

From what I can tell this is a makeshift ramp with some particle board and handrails placed over an existing stairway. Which is a bad idea in the first place because stairs are at an angle that’s way too steep for a ramp. But let’s just say the ramp is at an appropriate slope, then we have a bit of a bottom landing problem. Because there isn’t one. Unless someone is using the world’s skinniest wheelchair.
