Bad Design Style: Case #45
This photo of Hotel Vikram is courtesy of TripAdvisor
As many travelers know, online pictures and descriptions of hotels can sometimes be very misleading. Rooms don’t look as nice as they do in real life while features and services are exaggerated. This is what happened to a family traveling in India and staying at a hotel that claimed to be wheelchair accessible.
Well, the hotel turned out to be not so wheelchair friendly. This is most visually evidenced by the pictured ramp. Obviously it is way too steep and there are no handrails. Steepness is one thing but a drop off the side is a serious danger. Besides the bad ramp, the hotel has other wheelchair accessibility problems in the rooms and bathrooms. The photographer of the above picture left a detailed review which you can read here.
