Bad Design Style: Case #48
For this week’s Bad Design Style, there are obvious problems that might be fixable. The obvious problem here is a ramp with no handrails or edge protection. Yet the ramp’s slope looks to be alright. So here are some ways to fix this.
Handrails or a solid wall could be put on the right side of the ramp. Same with the left side. Though extending the width of the ramp to the building would be better. This way a handrail could be mounted on the building. Making the ramp wider to the building also gives more space at the top to avoid that column. So there is hope for this ramp. However hope in the building owner doing what is right is a different story.
