Bad Design Style: Case #58
Usually when something is being modified, it is being improved for the better. Not often is it made worse or where things stay the same. Well that’s what we have here with a headslapper of a modification. Making stairs accessible with a ramp … AND STAIRS!
This is a case where something was done about 80% right but the 20% wrong just ruins everything. First, good job on deciding to make the entrance accessible by putting in a ramp. The concrete looks solid, handrails look good, and the slope is fine. But then you added stairs at the bottom of the ramp! Defeats the purpose a bit eh. Plus that bottom stair doesn’t appear to be in good shape at the moment. Had the builders just change the angle of the ramp some they could of had the bottom of the ramp be a little further down the sidewalk. No stairs needed!
