SSDI and Medicare Questions Answered with the Disability Answers App
If you or someone you know has Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Medicare questions, getting answers can sometimes be a task. Searching the internet can be overwhelming and confusing while finding the right person to answer your questions can be equally taxing. One easy resource that can lead you in the right direction is the free Disabilities Answers app by The Advocator Group. A nationwide organization based out of Massachusetts that helps people with SSDI and Medicare plans.
The Disabilities Answers app is basically a condensed version of their website which answers questions in a simple and straightforward way. After downloading and opening the app, there are four navigation “buttons”. They are Home, FAQs, Resources, and My Answers. The Home button page gives information on the app and how to use it.
On the FAQ page are three categories to choose from: Disability, Medicare, and Social Programs. Under Disability questions like, “What is disability insurance?” and “When will my SSDI benefits begin?” appear. The answers are clear but not overly long. The Medicare page answers many of the basic questions about Medicare. The Social Programs page give quick descriptions of programs like the Ticket to Work Program and the Affordable Care Act.
Under the Resources are the following categories: Reasons to Apply, SSDI Application Process, How Benefits are Calculated, Benefits of Representation, and Medicare overview. Each category has a few paragraphs that answers questions and explains processes.
Finally there is My Answers which can help determine SSDI and Medicare Eligibility. Just fill out some information and the app will let you give you an idea of how eligible you or another person might be.
Disability Answers is a good little app that can help answer questions and get people started in the right direction. For more information visit the iTunes app page or The Advocator Group website.
