Last night I attended a CEU (Continuing Education Unit) course on LED lighting. The company presenting was io LED which specializes in LED lighting. One of the products they featured was Luxrail which is a stairway handrail or guard railing with a strip of light on the underside. Immediately I thought this would be great if it could be configured into a grab bar. Sure enough right after my thought, they presented the Balance Beam. An award winning lighted grab bar that can illuminate a dark path at night.

Now this grab bar does more than just shine light. The bar itself is touch sensitive so it turns on with just the touch of a hand. Once the hand leaves, the light can stay on for a preset amount of time. A nightlight feature can also be configured in as an option. Falls in the dark can be a serious problem which this product can help prevent.
